Work at Atlas

We're passionate about accelerating financial empowerment.

Over 100 million Americans are underserved by the current financial system. The result is often poor access to credit, exorbitant fees, and diminished ability to invest in their futures to realize their full potential. Without equitable access to credit it is harder to attend your dream college, balance academic coursework with part-time work, buy a car to commute to a better job, pursue your entrepreneurial passion, or buy a home in a great school district.

Equitable access matters, and we want to create a more level financial playing field. We believe better products can make our system work better for everyone, and unleash an incredible wave of prosperity and productivity. The technology to unleash this latent potential exists. We just need to bring it to life. We can't think of a more important use of our product and technology skills.

We're a seasoned product and engineering team with past experience at Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, and Thumbtack. We're always on the lookout for exceptional talent. Join us and help us accelerate financial empowerment for the next generation.

Don't see a perfect fit below? Tell us how you can help accelerate our progress, and we might be able to craft a unique role for you.

Strategy and Operations Manager

About Atlas

At Atlas, we believe the financial system should work for everyone. We’re building a modern rewards credit card and banking platform designed to grow with our members - helping them build credit on autopilot with 0% APR, no late fees, and premium rewards. By replacing harsh penalties with empathy and smart technology, we are making stress-free financial progress accessible to millions.

We are a product- and technology-obsessed team with roots at Facebook, Amazon, Robinhood, and Uber. Since launching 4 years ago, we’ve been growing at ~10% month-over-month. If you’re ready to build a high-impact product that democratizes opportunity and accelerates financial empowerment, join us.

About the role

We’re looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager to join our small, high-leverage operations team. You’ll partner directly with our Senior Operations Manager as a generalist operator — wearing many hats, running processes end-to-end, and taking ownership of one of our most strategically important bets: our newest secured-lending product.

This role is for someone who is energized by ambiguity and wants ownership. You’ll lead our newest secured-lending product front to back from operational process design and KPI definition to GTM and partnership management. Alongside that, you’ll own weekly business reporting, drive cross-functional projects, and use AI tools aggressively to compress what would otherwise be weeks of work into days.

Full-time employees receive a competitive equity package and benefits. This is a hybrid position based in San Francisco, CA, with two days a week in our SF office.

What you’ll do

  • Own our newest secured-lending product front to back: act as the operational lead for one of our newest product lines — from process design and operational tooling to performance tracking, vendor management, and continuous improvement.
  • Own KPIs and weekly reporting: define the metrics that matter, build the dashboards behind them, and deliver a clear weekly readout that drives decisions across the team.
  • Run operational processes end-to-end: design, ship, and continuously improve the workflows that keep the business running with minimal oversight.
  • Drive cross-functional special projects: take on high-priority, ambiguous initiatives that don’t fit cleanly into one function — scope them, build the plan, and ship them with partners across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Build PR, outreach, and partnership pipelines: stand up scalable systems for external outreach - partner sourcing, press and media relationships, and the GTM motions that bring our products to more customers across the business.
  • Leverage AI to compress operational work: use AI tools to automate analyses, accelerate research, and remove busywork from the team’s plate.

What we’re looking for

  • 3–5 years of experience in a fast-paced startup environment — ideally as a generalist operator, in S&O, BizOps, or a similar role.
  • True operator instincts: you’re comfortable wearing many hats, switching context, and owning outcomes rather than tasks, with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical background. You can write SQL or Python well enough to answer your own questions, and you’re fluent translating numbers into recommendations.
  • Track record of owning KPIs, building dashboards, and delivering recurring business reporting that actually drives decisions.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools as a daily multiplier — for analysis, ops automation, research, and writing.
  • Crisp written communication; high agency; low ego; bias to action, customer obsession.
  • Bay Area–based and able to work from our SF office two days a week.

What sets you apart

  • Fintech startup experience — bonus points if you’ve worked on credit, lending, or other consumer financial products.
  • Direct experience with alternative lending or secured-credit products (e.g., asset-backed lending, point-of-sale lending, secured credit).
  • Experience building PR outreach pipelines and managing external partnerships.
  • Comfort with Looker (or a similar BI tool) and modern ops/analytics stacks.
  • Strategic thinking;  you naturally ask “why” and “what if,” not just “what happened.”
  • Growth mindset; you’re energized by variety, ambiguity, and the chance to own something meaningful.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits with market leading equity
  • 401(k) match
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • Unlimited PTO & work from home flexibility
  • Lunch & dinner at the office
